The Festival's first ever CD has arrived, featuring the London Bulgarian Choir, Mor Karbasi, Sheikh Ahmad Dede, Shichiseikai, Parvathy Baul, Nina Virdee, Cheng Yu and more.

EAST was (mostly) recorded live at the Festival in October 2008, which featured musicians from nations as diverse as Bulgaria, Belarus, China, India, Israel, Japan, Turkey - and the UK - and music from the Baul, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Pagan, Sikh and Sufi traditions.

EAST captures the atmosphere of a very special week, and demonstrates the huge diversity of ways that the artists, who come from different faiths and cultures, connect with the divine through music.

We asked the artists to tell us about their musical and spiritual journey. Listening to their music, and reading their words, you may: glimpse moments of revelation or joyous celebration, experience ecstasy and yearning, lose yourself in mesmeric chanting or transcendent beauty.
